"Internet Security" will be presented by Marty Holmes. This is a very popular topic in today's world of the internet. Everyone is invited, so bring your friends.
This meeting will also be our Christmas party. Please bring Christmas goodies to share with all and let's celebrate!
NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT
The Executive Board approved the following slate of officers chosen by the Nominating Committee for the year 2010. This slate will be presented to the general membership of GCHGS for vote at the December meeting. The members will be allowed to make nominations from the floor if desired before a vote is taken.

COOKBOOK FUND-RAISER
We are asking for recipes to include in our
GCH&GS Cookbook which will be published in
the near future. We would like to have your
family favorites as well as your recipes form the
past. Perhaps you have recipes in your collection
from your mothers, grandmothers or other
relatives.
When sending your recipes, please include a
list of ingredients with cooking instructions, your

The Salt Lake City Research Trip, sponsored
by the Arkansas Genealogical Society, is
scheduled for December 6-13, 2009. There
will be approximately 14 members attending.
THE GCHGS CALENDAR
The Greene County Historical and
Genealogical Society 2010 Calendar is for sale
at the GCHGS Center. The calendars feature
some of the early churches built in Greene
County. The price per calendar is $10.00 each,
plus tax and mailing.
Keep in mind that they will make great
Christmas gifts!!!
GCHGS ITEMS FOR SALE
We have Tote Bags, 14 1/2"h x 15 1/2"w x
4" deep made of natural cotton with a green
and gold family tree with our GCHGS logo.
They are $12.00 each, plus tax and $3.00 for
mailing.
We also have Polo Shirts for sale. They are
hunter green and have our official logo on
them. The shirt has an outline of Greene
County with the name GCHGS Paragould,
Arkansas embroidered in gold. They are
$20.00 each, plus tax and $2.00 for mailing.
Any proceeds over the cost will go toward
materials for our center.
INFORMATION NEEDED
Information is needed about the houses on
stilts on the St. Francis River overflow lands
between Greene County and the Missouri line
that could be seen from the bridge. There
were lots of them in the 1940s or earlier and
began disappearing about the 1950s and 1960s.
Betty Clayton needs stories, pictures and
information on any of the families that lived in
those houses for a story she is writing for the
